Видання присвячено другому архітектурному модернізму Українського Півдня та Сходу, чия культурна спадщина із 2014 р. зазнає непоправних втрат унаслідок російської агресії та дій окупаційної влади. Архітектурний модернізм АР Крим, Дніпропетровської, Донецької, Запорізької, Луганської, Миколаївської, Одеської, Харківської та Херсонської областей уперше розглянуто як невід’ємну частину єдиного національного культурного простору. Представлені регіональні переліки об’єктів другого модернізму сформовано за історико-хронологічним принципом. Джерельна база видання складається з оригінальних матеріалів бібліотечних, архівних та приватних зібрань, що сприяло фіксації первинного архітектурного задуму і забезпечило належне географічне охоплення об’єктів. У вступних тезах дається історіографічний огляд проблеми другого модернізму загалом із виявленням притаманних для нього соціально-культурних ознак. У підсумковій статті порушуються актуальні питання збереження спадщини модернізму на прикладі Німеччини.
Fragile heritage Architectural modernism of the Ukrainian South and East: late 1950–1980s : catalogue album / compiled and edited by Pavlo Kravchuk, «Gerda» publishing house, 2023
The publication is dedicated to the second architectural modernism of the Ukrainian South and East whose cultural heritage is subject to irrecoverable losses as a result of the Russian aggression and actions of the occupation authorities since 2014. The architectural modernism of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions has been considered as an integral part of the united national cultural space for the first time. The represented regional lists of the objects of the second modernism were compiled according to the historical and chronological principle. The source base of the publication consists of the original materials of the library, archival, and private editions, and this promoted the documentation of the initial architectural concept and provided the proper geographical coverage of the objects. The introduction provides a historiographic review of the problem of the second modernism in general with the detection of the social and cultural features peculiar to it. The final article addresses the topical issues of the preservation of modernism heritage through the example of Germany.
