Kozar P. Pilots of the Dnipro Rapids / Compilation and Introduction by M. Chaban
Pavlo Kozar (1898-1944) entered the history of research as author of the thorough investigation Pilots of the Dnipro Rapids (1929). This historical narrative was published once again in 1996, though it is hardly accessible nowadays. A native of Shyroke, a village of river pilots in Solonyansky district, one of the leaders of the Dniprelstan archaeological expedition of 1927-1931 and the leader of the expedition over the Rapids in 1942-1943, Pavlo Kozar was also a writer of the popular excursion guidebook To Dniprelstan across the Rapids (1927) and a number of articles on the history of the Pridniprovsky territory. In this volume of selected works of this researcher, who faced such difficulties in life, we have collected everything available from his heritage including the letters of P. Kozar to his teacher, academician Dmytro Yavornytsky. This edition is addressed to the broad circle of readers who are in love with the history of their native land.
Павло Козар (1898-1944) увійшов в історію дослідження як автор ґрунтовної розвідки «Лоцмани Дніпрових порогів» (1929). Ця історична розповідь була опублікована ще раз у 1996 році, хоча сьогодні вона малодоступна. Уродженець села річкових лоцманів Широке Солонянського району, один із керівників Дніпропетровської археологічної експедиції 1927-1931 рр. і керівника експедиції над Порогами 1942-1943 рр. Павло Козар був також письменником народної літератури. екскурсійний путівник «На Дніпроград за пороги» (1927) та ряд статей з історії Придніпровського краю.
